Metric measure spaces with Riemannian Ricci curvature bounded from below

چکیده
In this paper we introduce a synthetic notion of Riemannian Ricci bounds from below for metric measure spaces (X, d,m) which is stable under measured Gromov-Hausdorff convergence and rules out Finsler geometries. It can be given in terms of an enforcement of the Lott, Sturm and Villani geodesic convexity condition for the entropy coupled with the linearity of the heat flow. Besides stability, it enjoys the same tensorization, globalto-local and local-to-global properties. In these spaces, that we call RCD(K,∞) spaces, we prove that the heat flow (which can be equivalently characterized either as the flow associated to the Dirichlet form, or as the Wasserstein gradient flow of the entropy) satisfies Wasserstein contraction estimates and several regularity properties, in particular Bakry-Émery estimates and the L∞ − Lip Feller regularization. We also prove that the distance induced by the Dirichlet form coincides with d, that the local energy measure has density given by the square of Cheeger’s relaxed slope and, as a consequence, that the underlying Brownian motion has continuous paths. All these results are obtained independently of Poincaré and doubling assumptions on the metric measure structure and therefore apply also to spaces which are not locally compact, as the infinite-dimensional ones.

Sharp and Rigid Isoperimetric Inequalities in Metric-measure Spaces with Lower Ricci Curvature Bounds
We prove that if (X, d,m) is a metric measure space with m(X) = 1 having (in a synthetic sense) Ricci curvature bounded from below by K > 0 and dimension bounded above by N ∈ [1,∞), then the classic Lévy-Gromov isoperimetric inequality (together with the recent sharpening counterparts proved in the smooth setting by E. Milman for any K ∈ R, N ≥ 1 and upper diameter bounds) hold, i.e. the isoper...
متن کاملNon-branching Geodesics and Optimal Maps in Strong Cd(k,∞)-spaces
We prove that in metric measure spaces where the entropy functional is Kconvex along every Wasserstein geodesic any optimal transport between two absolutely continuous measures with finite second moments lives on a non-branching set of geodesics. As a corollary we obtain that in these spaces there exists only one optimal transport plan between any two absolutely continuous measures with finite ...
متن کاملOptimal Transport and Ricci Curvature for Metric-measure Spaces
We survey work of Lott-Villani and Sturm on lower Ricci curvature bounds for metric-measure spaces. An intriguing question is whether one can extend notions of smooth Riemannian geometry to general metric spaces. Besides the inherent interest, such extensions sometimes allow one to prove results about smooth Riemannian manifolds, using compactness theorems. There is a good notion of a metric sp...
متن کاملRicci Curvature for Metric-measure Spaces via Optimal Transport
We define a notion of a measured length space X having nonnegative N -Ricci curvature, for N ∈ [1,∞), or having ∞-Ricci curvature bounded below by K, for K ∈ R. The definitions are in terms of the displacement convexity of certain functions on the associated Wasserstein metric space P2(X) of probability measures. We show that these properties are preserved under measured Gromov-Hausdorff limits...
متن کاملA new notion of angle between three points in a metric space
We give a new notion of angle in general metric spaces; more precisely, given a triple a points p, x, q in a metric space (X, d), we introduce the notion of angle cone ∠pxq as being an interval ∠pxq := [∠pxq,∠ + pxq], where the quantities ∠ ± pxq are defined in terms of the distance functions from p and q via a duality construction of differentials and gradients holding for locally Lipschitz fu...
متن کاملRiemannian Ricci curvature lower bounds in metric measure spaces with σ-finite measure
In prior work [4] of the first two authors with Savaré, a new Riemannian notion of lower bound for Ricci curvature in the class of metric measure spaces (X, d,m) was introduced, and the corresponding class of spaces denoted by RCD(K,∞). This notion relates the CD(K,N) theory of Sturm and Lott-Villani, in the case N = ∞, to the Bakry-Emery approach. In [4] the RCD(K,∞) property is defined in thr...
